Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district, recently shared his views and updates through a series of tweets. Known for succeeding Darrell Issa in 2019, Levin has been active in addressing various issues ranging from healthcare funding to government transparency.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Levin expressed concerns about potential cuts to medical research funding by the new administration. He warned of the dire consequences such reductions could have on public health: "The new administration wants to gut funding for life-saving medical research, and if they succeed, it will have a catastrophic impact. We must not let this happen. Lives are on the line."

In another update posted on February 12, 2025, Levin thanked constituents for participating in his telephone town hall event. He noted the success of the interaction and encouraged further engagement through his newsletter: "Thank you to the over 5,000 constituents who joined my telephone town hall last night. Great questions and discussion...If you want to hear more about my work for you, please subscribe to my newsletter."

Later that day, Rep. Levin called for greater efficiency and transparency across all levels of government while specifically mentioning Elon Musk and DOGE: "If we want efficiency and transparency in government, then we need it in ALL of government...The public should not be kept in the dark about what Elon and DOGE are up to."
