On February 17, 2025, Congressman Ruiz congratulated California Indian Nations College on achieving pre-accreditation status. He described this milestone as "a historic step in serving our Indigenous communities." Ruiz expressed his pleasure in meeting with students from the college to discuss how its programs benefit local students. "Congratulations to California Indian Nations College on their recent pre-accreditation status, which is a historic step in serving our Indigenous communities."

The following day, February 18, 2025, he addressed healthcare access for underserved communities. He emphasized the importance of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) for thousands of families in his community. After meeting with DAP Health and other leaders from local FQHCs, he reiterated his commitment to protecting healthcare services from potential cuts to Medi-Cal. Later that same day, Congressman Ruiz raised concerns about privacy and digital security related to financial information access by Elon Musk and DOGE. He criticized these actions as an invasion of privacy and announced his co-sponsorship of the Taxpayer Data Protection Act to safeguard personal information. "Elon Musk and DOGE are trying to access detailed financial information about every American, an invasion of privacy and a threat to your digital security."
