Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., representing California's 25th district, has recently shared his views on the impact of immigration policies on various sectors through a series of tweets. These statements emphasize the potential repercussions of a decrease in immigrant workers across different industries.

On February 6, 2025, Congressman Ruiz expressed concerns over the economic consequences that may arise from changes in immigration policies. He stated that "Grocery prices will increase, housing construction will be delayed, hospitals and nursing homes will have fewer people to take care of patients, and hotels and restaurants will have fewer employees to serve customers. Everyone will be impacted."

In another tweet on the same day, Ruiz highlighted the dependence of key industries on immigrant labor. He noted that "Without immigrant workers, the agriculture, construction, hotel, restaurant and healthcare industries will all suffer, as will the people they serve."

Further addressing social issues linked to immigration enforcement practices on February 6th, he mentioned that "Immigrants are not going to work, school or church out of fear of being separated from their families...and that harms all of us. Mass deportations would make things even worse." This highlights his concern about the broader societal impact beyond just economic factors.
