Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., who represents California's 25th district, has recently shared his thoughts on social media regarding two pressing issues. On January 30, 2025, he addressed a tragic event and voiced concerns over political actions affecting federal funding.

In a tweet dated January 30, 2025, Congressman Ruiz expressed his sorrow about a crash at Reagan Airport in Washington D.C. He stated: "The crash at @Reagan_Airport in D.C. is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to the families of victims. Thank you to the first responders, especially those that performed search and rescue in the freezing water in the dark."

Later that day, Ruiz tweeted about feedback from constituents regarding Republican-led budget cuts. He wrote: "This week, many of you have reached out—by phone, email, and online—sharing your fears and concerns about the extreme Republican ripoff that is occurring and its devastating freeze on federal funding for our communities. (1/4)"

Continuing his discussion on economic impacts, Ruiz highlighted conversations with workers affected by these budgetary decisions. In another tweet posted on January 30, he stated: "In the past few days, I’ve met with laborers, construction workers, and transit leaders who told me firsthand how these cuts could cost them their jobs and livelihoods." He further emphasized his commitment by saying "I won’t let these extreme cuts hurt you or our community. Stay informed and join me in this fight. (3/4)"
