Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said school teachers at California elementary school are “sick people who use their morally depraved worldview to groom children” after reading a book about “gender identity” to fifth graders and kindergarteners.

"The teachers and school officials involved in this scandal are, frankly, sick people who use their morally depraved worldview to groom children,” Burch told . North Coast California News. “It is no wonder that academic performance in our public schools continues to be at such a low level."

Fox News in San Diego is reporting on a book being used by the Encinitas Union School District titled "My Shadow is Pink.” A fifth grade student told their parents about the book after it was read in their class, and made them uncomfortable.

The book was read to their fifth grade class before the fifth graders were sent to their buddy classroom of kindergarteners where they all watch a narrated video of the book together. The book was not reported on the weekly report sent to parents. The questioning led to a school board meeting with a large attendance of parents wanting to know why this happened.

My Shadow is Pink” is a book by Scott Stuart that “touches on the subjects of gender identity, self acceptance, equality and diversity.” It was published in 2021 by Larrikin House US.
