Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., representing California's 25th District, recently shared insights and activities through a series of tweets, shedding light on his legislative priorities and community engagement. Since succeeding Mary Bono in 2013, Ruiz has continuously voiced strong opinions and fostered community relationships.

On April 10, 2025, Ruiz expressed his opposition to the Republican budget framework. He emphasized his disapproval due to its proposed cuts to federal support for programs like Head Start, after-school initiatives, SNAP, and Medicaid, arguing it favors tax breaks amounting to $5 trillion for billionaires. Consequently, he cast a negative vote.

In another post dated April 11, 2025, Ruiz highlighted the rewarding aspects of his congressional service, particularly interactions with students from San Diego State University, Imperial Valley. He expressed appreciation for the students’ ambitions and their aspirations for careers ranging from law enforcement to water engineering.

Further, on April 11, 2025, Ruiz announced in a subsequent tweet his plan to host three town halls across the region. The intention behind these gatherings is to share his congressional activities, address constituents' questions, and maintain a strong connection with the community. Ruiz affirmed his commitment to being accessible and accountable to those he serves.

Raul Ruiz, born in Zacatecas City, Mexico in 1972 and residing in Indio, has a robust educational background, holding degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles and Harvard University. His tenure in Congress has been characterized by his active engagement with constituents and advocacy on issues pertinent to them.
