Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., representing California’s 25th district, recently shared insights from his community engagement and public service efforts. Known for his hands-on approach, Congressman Ruiz highlighted activities ranging from educational connections to practical assistance with tax filing, and community interaction at town halls, in his recent social media communications.

On April 15, 2025, Congressman Ruiz described his visit to DMS Knights Middle School in Hemet, California, where he experienced a day in the life of a school principal. During his visit, "I toured @DMSKnights Middle School in #HemetCA and learned what it was like to be a principal for a day! It was wonderful to speak with school administrators, teachers, and students about their projects, assignments, and improvements. I am proud to represent communities that are" in his district, demonstrating his commitment to understanding and addressing educational needs locally.

Later the same day, on Twitter, Congressman Ruiz addressed tax filing procedures, acknowledging the significance of April 15 as Tax Day. Continuing his series of public engagements, Congressman Ruiz shared on April 17, 2025, his gratitude for community participation during a town hall meeting held in Beaumont. In a call to action for continued dialogue, he posted, "One down, two more to go. Thank you to the hundreds of people that turned out for my town hall in Beaumont. Next up, Indio and El Centro." This statement emphasized his ongoing commitment to maintaining open lines of communication with residents throughout his district.

Raul Ruiz, who serves in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 25th District since 2013 after succeeding Mary Bono, resides in Indio and continues to be active in addressing the needs and concerns of his community. Born in Zacatecas City, Mexico, in 1972, Ruiz earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by further studies at Harvard University.
