Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., representing California's 25th district, recently shared a series of tweets expressing his stance on immigration and personal anecdotes. Serving in Congress since 2013 after replacing Mary Bono, Ruiz is known for his active involvement in immigration reform and advocacy for birthright citizenship.

On January 24, 2025, Congressman Ruiz tweeted about the significance of birthright citizenship. He stated: "Being born in America makes you American. Period." He further mentioned his association with the Hispanic Caucus to oppose efforts aimed at removing birthright citizenship.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Ruiz emphasized the need for bipartisan immigration reform. He wrote: "We need bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform that secures our borders, stabilizes our workforce, improves our economy, provides a pathway to citizenship starting with dreamers and farm workers, and respects the dignity of individuals."

The following day, on January 25, 2025, Congressman Ruiz shared a more personal message. He expressed enjoyment from starting his day with coffee from Coachella Valley while working in Washington D.C.: "Happy Friday! There’s nothing better than starting the day with a sip from my #CoachellaValleyCoffee cup while working hard for the incredible people of our district."
