Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., representing California's 25th district, shared his views on recent budgetary decisions and technological policies through a series of tweets. His comments focus on financial allocations to major corporations and critique recent political moves by former President Trump and House Republicans.

On March 5, 2025, Congressman Ruiz expressed skepticism about certain federal expenditures related to major tech companies. He stated, "Of course I’ve heard of #DOGE, maybe we should start the cuts here: - $1.8 billion for SpaceX to build spy satellites from the National Reconnaissance Office. - $11.4 billion in regulatory credits for Tesla. - $465 million for Tesla’s first luxury electric sedan factory."

In another tweet posted on the same day, Ruiz criticized a budget framework passed by Trump and House Republicans. He remarked that it would significantly increase the federal deficit while benefiting billionaires at the cost of Medicaid. He commented, "Trump and Extreme House Republicans passed a budget framework that will dramatically increase the federal deficit and debt, all while giving billions in tax giveaways to billionaires at the expense of Medicaid."

Later that day, Ruiz addressed Trump's stance on the CHIPS Act, emphasizing its importance for maintaining America's technological edge in AI. He argued that abandoning this act would harm U.S. competitiveness and accused Trump of prioritizing China over America with his policies. Ruiz tweeted, "Trump wants to get rid of the #CHIPSAct? All this will do is guarantee America loses its technological advantage and long-term competitiveness in AI."
