Rep. Mike Levin criticizes administration's priorities and celebrates local recognition

Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 49th district since 2019, has expressed his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. These tweets reflect his stance on veterans' health care, Social Security funding, and community recognition efforts.

On December 8, 2024, Rep. Levin criticized the new administration's priorities in a tweet: "Top priorities of the new administration apparently include slashing funding for veterans’ health care and cutting taxes for billionaires. It should be the other way around. Veterans should get the best health care possible. Billionaires should pay their fair share in taxes."

In another tweet dated December 10, 2024, he emphasized the importance of adequately funding the Social Security Administration: "We must give the Social Security Administration the funding it needs to continue operating without delay for seniors. Congressional Republicans need to stop playing games with Americans’ benefits and do the right thing."

Later that day, Rep. Levin celebrated a legislative achievement related to community recognition: "Naming the Oceanside Post Office on Seagaze Drive after Charlesetta Reece Allen is the least we can do to honor someone who did so much for our community. I am proud my bill to designate the Post Office was signed into law, and I look forward to the naming ceremony!"
