Rep. Mike Levin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 49th district, recently shared a series of tweets reflecting on historical milestones and community achievements. The congressman, who has been serving since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa, expressed his thoughts on significant events and personal acknowledgments through social media.

On December 6, 2024, Rep. Levin commemorated the ratification of the 13th Amendment with a tweet that read: "On this day 159 years ago, Congress ratified the 13th Amendment and abolished slavery. Today, we honor this milestone and continue the fight to protect freedom, liberty, and justice for all."

Later that day, he highlighted an important legislative achievement honoring Charlesetta Reece Allen by tweeting: "Charlesetta Reece Allen, one of the first Black residents of Oceanside, dedicated her life to uplifting our community. I’m proud my bill to honor her by designating the Oceanside Seagaze Post Office as the Charlesetta Reece Allen Post Office Building was signed into law."

In another tweet posted on December 6th, Rep. Levin acknowledged his staff's contributions to his work in Congress: "So much of the work I do every day wouldn’t be possible without my staff. If you’ve ever worked with my office, you know I have one of the best teams on the Hill. Grateful to celebrate another year of hard work and successes with them."
