He highlighted a “great meeting with constituents from the California Retired Teachers Association throughout my district from #HemetCA to #BrawleyCA to discuss threats to the Social Security Administration and the Department of Education.” He affirmed his support for retirees by advocating for their benefits.
Later that day, April 3, he turned his attention to economic concerns regarding tariffs imposed by the previous administration. In a tweet, Ruiz noted that “Hardworking Americans will pay the price for Trump’s tariffs, as economists warn we will face $3,000 in added costs each year.” Ruiz acknowledged the increased burden of essential costs such as groceries and gas on families already facing financial difficulties.
