Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on March 23, 2026, addressing federal agency funding, healthcare reform, and allegations of misconduct within the Department of Homeland Security.
In a post published at 15:44 UTC, Levin reiterated his position on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) funding: “I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: I will not vote to hand ICE another blank check with zero accountability. That’s why I signed a discharge petition to force a vote on funding TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard, while demanding real reforms before ICE sees another”.
Later that day at 17:57 UTC, Levin marked the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), writing: “Sixteen years ago today, the ACA was signed into law. Democrats spent those sixteen years making it stronger, expanding coverage, lowering premiums, and putting an average of $2,400 back in families’ pockets every year. Republicans spent those same sixteen years trying to tear”.
At 19:40 UTC on March 23rd, Levin addressed reports involving former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski: “Corey Lewandowski was allegedly running a pay-to-play scheme out of the Department of Homeland Security. Multiple contractors say they were pressured to pay or hire firms tied to him personally just to secure federal contracts. Companies that refused watched their contracts”.
Levin has represented California’s 49th District since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019. He was born in Inglewood in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. He holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
