Rep. Mike Levin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 49th district since 2019, recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing federal government actions and policies.
On March 17, 2026, Levin questioned government transparency regarding military operations in Iran, stating: “If the Administration’s war in Iran is going so well, why does the FCC Chair need to threaten news outlets into silence? The American people have a constitutional right to know what their government is doing, especially when it involves sending Americans into harm’s way and https://t.co/30mpwYmjiT”.
Later that same day, Levin criticized the Trump Administration’s stance on environmental regulation: “The Trump Administration’s latest attack on California’s clean vehicle standards will sabotage our future, pollute our air, and make American industry less competitive. This lawsuit threatens years of progress cutting smog and building healthier communities across our state” (March 17, 2026).
On March 18, 2026, Levin raised concerns about a nuclear energy deal involving a small company: “A three-year-old company operating out of a WeWork with reportedly fewer than five employees is being considered for up to $25 BILLION in nuclear energy funds from a trade deal Trump brokered with Japan. The company has never built a nuclear plant or completed a nuclear project https://t.co/8q5Lw1zfTM”.
Levin was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. He graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 2001 and earned his JD from Duke University in 2005.
