Rep. Mike Levin, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, posted a series of statements on his social media account in early January 2026 addressing concerns about federal administration actions and recognizing the career of a fellow legislator.

It makes no sense. Disasters are getting worse, not better, and cutting the people who show up first won’t make anyone safer.”
The following day, Levin criticized reported changes within the Department of Health and Human Services regarding childhood vaccination policy: “The Trump Administration is toying with the lives of our children. Levin has served as a member of Congress since succeeding Darrell Issa in 2019 and represents California’s coastal 49th district. He was born in Inglewood in 1978 and resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD), reflecting his academic background before entering public service.
