Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 21, 2025, addressing concerns over recent immigration enforcement operations and criticizing a major legislative proposal.
In a tweet published at 15:47 UTC, Levin wrote, “We must have both security and humanity in this country. The lack of transparency during recent immigration enforcement operations in Oceanside was unacceptable. My San Diego colleagues and I wrote Secretary Noem demanding answers.”
Later that day at 19:15 UTC, Levin commented on fiscal policy issues with another post: “There you have it — Trump’s Big Ugly Bill will increase the deficit by $3.4 trillion over the next 10 years. This bill racks up debt and is completely irresponsible, coming from the so-called party of “fiscal responsibility.””
A third tweet was posted at 20:09 UTC but only included a link without additional commentary: https://t.co/AwLGOEQgNd
Levin has represented California’s 49th District since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA, 2001) and Duke University (JD, 2005).
