Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, raised questions on social media about the Trump administration’s handling of Venezuela oil policy, the release of Epstein files, and a recent police shooting in Minnesota.
On January 9, 2026, Levin posted: “As Trump meets with oil executives today, the public deserves straight answers about his Venezuela oil plans.
First, what law actually gives this administration the authority to sell another country’s oil and control the proceeds?
Second, where does the money go? Which accounts https://t.co/HDTXi2m8Jd“.
Later that day, Levin commented on ongoing concerns related to documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case. On January 9, 2026 he wrote: “Less than 1% of the Epstein files have been released.
Trump’s DOJ is still sitting on more than 2 million documents and the legal deadline to release these files was 21 DAYS AGO.
What else are they hiding and who are they protecting?
This is a cover-up.”
In another post on January 9, 2026 regarding an incident in Minnesota involving law enforcement use of deadly force, Levin stated: “This new angle of the Minnesota shooting shows the need for additional investigation by someone other than Kristi Noem. That includes the state of Minnesota.
I have yet to see anything that provides justification for the use of deadly force in this situation. https://t.co/gKA4JyNTbG“
Levin has served as a congressman since succeeding Darrell Issa in 2019. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
