Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, outlined a series of energy policy proposals on September 25, 2025, via posts on social media platform X.
In his first post at 17:48 UTC, Levin stated: “@RepCasten First, and most importantly, our plan will cut energy costs for consumers by directly providing energy assistance to households and businesses across the country and insulating gas prices from global turbulence.”
A few moments later, he continued with another message: “@RepCasten Our plan will restore the historic tax credits created by Congress in 2022 that were revoked this year. This will save YOU from an impending $400/year rate hike.”
Levin concluded his series of posts by emphasizing support for families facing higher utility bills: “@RepCasten Our plan will lower energy bills for American families by relieving YOU from covering the costs of new power-hungry data centers and supporting extreme weather retrofitting and energy efficiency programs to cut the amount of energy each household needs.”
Levin has represented California’s 49th District since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds a BA from Stanford University (2001) and a JD from Duke University (2005).
