Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, has recently shared his views and activities through a series of tweets. Levin, who succeeded Darrell Issa, continues to engage with constituents on various issues from tax policies to local incidents.
On May 9, 2025, Rep. Levin expressed his agreement with President Trump regarding the restoration of the 39.6% top tax rate on the wealthy. He noted skepticism about Congressional Republicans’ support for this measure but emphasized an alternative approach: “But instead of slashing Medicaid and SNAP or handing out more to big corporations, let’s invest in kids, housing, vets, and seniors.”
In a tweet dated May 12, 2025, Rep. Levin extended Mother’s Day wishes to mothers in his district while expressing personal gratitude towards his own family members: “I’m grateful for my mom, mother-in-law, and my wife Chrissy… I’m wishing all of the moms in our District a relaxing day spent with family.”
Later that same day, Levin addressed a recent incident involving a panga boat during a press conference in Del Mar. He communicated plans aimed at preventing similar occurrences: “I just wrapped up a press conference in Del Mar to talk about last week’s panga boat incident and share my plan to help prevent incidents like this from happening again.”
Born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano, Mike Levin holds degrees from Stanford University and Duke University.
