Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues including gun violence prevention, economic inequality, and military healthcare in a series of posts on March 16, 2026.
On March 16, 2026, Levin posted about efforts to curb gun violence in California: “One of the most effective ways to prevent gun violence is intervening before a crisis escalates.
California’s Reduce the Risk campaign makes it easier to understand tools like Gun Violence Restraining Orders and connects people with local courts and community resources across”.
Later that day, Levin commented on former President Donald Trump’s finances and their potential impact on everyday Americans: “Trump’s personal wealth jumped 27% since taking office.
Totally unrelated, I’m sure, to the fact that he controls the most powerful office in the world and has been handing out favors to his billionaire friends ever since.
Your grocery bill is up. So is your health”.
In another post on March 16, Levin raised concerns about military policy under Trump’s administration: “Trump is sending our military into harm’s way while cutting some of the hospitals that treat them, their families, and veterans. Our service members risk everything for this country. The least we can do is guarantee them world-class care, with no cuts, delays, or excuses.”
Levin has represented California’s 49th District in Congress since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019. He was born in Inglewood in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds a BA from Stanford University (2001) and a JD from Duke University (2005).
