Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on March 19, 2026, criticizing former President Donald Trump’s approach to clean energy and its impact on electricity costs for American families.
In his first post at 11:21 a.m., Levin addressed rising electricity prices and argued that investing in clean energy is the clear solution. He wrote, “If we’re serious about lowering costs for working families and ensuring America is at the forefront, the path forward is obvious. Electricity bills are skyrocketing. We know that clean energy lowers costs. The answer is staring us in the face, and Trump is doing absolutely https://t.co/vps3SX1KZD”.
Later that day at 2:22 p.m., Levin referenced Trump’s record with a brief statement: “Trump’s ‘Golden Age,’ everyone. https://t.co/XB2rc9E8H3”.
At 3:42 p.m., Levin further criticized Trump’s actions related to offshore wind projects, stating: “Let me get this straight. Trump lost in court FIVE times trying to kill offshore wind projects that would have powered over a million homes. Now he wants to spend nearly $1 BILLION of your taxpayer dollars to pay the developers to walk away and require them to invest in fossil”.
Levin has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. He was born in Inglewood, California, in 1978 and holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
