Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, recently used his social media platform to address concerns over tariffs and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
On July 28, 2025, Levin posted about the impact of tariffs on American consumers. He wrote, “Tariffs aren’t paid by foreign countries—they’re a TAX ON AMERICANS. American families pay more for cars, medicine, and everyday goods. Trump’s tariffs are a massive hidden tax hike, and Republicans are cheering it on. Working people get stuck with the bill.”
The following day, July 29, 2025, Levin commented on the situation in Gaza. He stated, “My statement on the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza: ‘I am deeply concerned by reports of a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Extreme shortages of food and medicine facing innocent civilians demand that Israel — in coordination with international aid'”
Levin’s remarks come as he continues his tenure representing California’s 49th District—a role he has held since succeeding Darrell Issa in 2019. Born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano, Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
