Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on February 25, 2026, criticizing recent Republican policies and statements by former President Donald Trump.
In his first post at 2:38 a.m. UTC, Levin commented on climate policy changes: “We are the hottest country”…that’s right because you eliminated all climate protections and now the climate crisis will only get worse.
Shortly after, at 2:52 a.m. UTC, Levin questioned Trump’s tariff proposals: The math doesn’t add up. Trump’s tariffs wouldn’t bring in anywhere close to the amount needed to allow Americans to stop paying income taxes.

At 2:55 a.m. UTC, Levin addressed health care costs under Republican leadership: Trump just claimed he’s bringing down health care costs? Are you kidding? 22 million Americans just had their premiums skyrocket because he and Washington Republicans refused to extend the ACA tax credits.
Levin has served as the congressional representative for California’s 49th District since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 2001 and earned his JD from Duke University in 2005.
