Rep. Mike Levin, a member of Congress representing California’s 49th district since 2019, used his Twitter account this week to criticize actions by congressional Republicans and comment on recent displays honoring former President Donald Trump in federal buildings.
On January 23, 2026, Levin posted: “For the record: this week Republicans on the Oversight Committee voted AGAINST a motion to hold Pam Bondi and the DOJ in contempt of Congress for failing to release the Epstein Files and violating the Epstein Files Transparency Act. What happened to getting justice for the”. The tweet references a vote by Republican members of the House Oversight Committee regarding the release of documents known as the “Epstein Files.”
Later that day, Levin commented on visual tributes to Donald Trump in government offices. At 19:53 UTC, he wrote: “The view from the window in my office is of the Department of Labor building, where they hung a huge banner of Trump next to one of Teddy Roosevelt. They did the same at the USDA, where Trump’s banner is alongside Abraham Lincoln. Putting Trump’s face next to great presidents”.
In another post made at 21:01 UTC on January 23, Levin criticized former President Trump’s financial activities during his time in office: “One year ago, Donald Trump took an oath to serve the American people. Instead, he’s used the presidency to pocket at least $1.4 BILLION. While families struggle to pay for groceries and health care, Trump is cashing in on foreign deals, corporate settlements, and secret crypto”.
Mike Levin has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and holds a law degree from Duke University.
