Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed concerns about public safety and federal funding for public broadcasting through a series of posts on his social media account.
The following day, on July 17, 2025, Levin commented on proposed cuts to federal funding for public broadcasting: “Today, Congressional Republicans are set to dismantle federal funding for PBS and NPR, potentially shutting down over 100 public broadcasting stations. This is a reckless assault on local journalism and freedom of the press that weakens our democracy. https://t.co/YF1XKTXkN6” He also shared an additional post with a link: “https://t.co/Ra5WXlplYe”.
