Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of critical tweets on July 23, 2025, regarding the current administration’s environmental policies and the role of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
In one post, Levin commented, “Didn’t age well.” (July 23, 2025). Shortly after, he addressed the EPA directly, stating, “@EPA This is all caused by an Administration that does not care about the impact this will have on you and Republicans who won’t stand up for what they know to be right.” (July 23, 2025).
Continuing his critique in a subsequent tweet posted at the same time, Levin wrote: “It also guts the @EPA ability to do its job: protect our clean air and our clean water. To make this simple, Republicans want to shift the burden of cost to you, raising energy and water bills. While we should absolutely eliminate unnecessary waste from our government, this” (July 23, 2025).
Mike Levin has served as a member of Congress since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019 and represents constituents in California’s coastal communities. He was born in Inglewood in 1978 and resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds a BA from Stanford University (2001) and a JD from Duke University (2005).
