Rep. Mike Levin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 49th district, recently addressed his constituents through a series of communications on social media. Levin, who has been a congressional representative since 2019, shared insights from a range of his political activities and engagements.
On May 1, 2025, Levin expressed gratitude towards his constituents, stating, “Thank you to the over 7,500 of you who joined my telephone town hall. It was great to answer so many of your questions.” He encouraged those who missed the town hall to view a recording available on his YouTube page, pointing to resources for further engagement.
Later that same day, Levin discussed his efforts to defend environmental regulations, particularly concerning California’s air quality. He noted during a speech on the House floor, “I spoke on the House Floor to protect California’s right to clean air. Since the 1960s, our Democratic and Republican leaders have worked to clean up our air. But now, House Republicans want to turn back the clock on the progress we’ve made. So much for state’s rights.” This statement underscores ongoing political tension over environmental policies.
On May 2, 2025, Levin announced a new communication venture, mentioning, “I’m on Substack! Subscribe to get my newsletter and a whole lot more, including videos, my op-eds, and press releases.” With this new platform, Levin aims to expand his outreach and provide constituents with updates and insights into his work.
Mike Levin was born in Inglewood, California, in 1978 and now resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin is a Stanford University alum with a BA and a JD from Duke University.
