Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent political and national events.
On March 22, 2026, Levin commented on the intersection of government policy and private financial interests, writing: “While Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick designed and championed this Administration’s tariff policy, his son’s financial firm was reportedly betting millions on those tariffs being struck down.

On March 23, 2026, Levin expressed condolences following an aviation accident at LaGuardia Airport: “Chrissy and I were very saddened to learn of the tragic crash at LaGuardia Airport last night that killed two pilots and injured many others.

Levin has served in Congress since succeeding Darrell Issa in 2019. Born in Inglewood in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano, he holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
