Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his social media account between November 30 and December 1, 2025.
On November 30, Levin commented on rising electricity costs, stating, “Electricity prices are rising more than twice as fast as inflation. At a time when American families are already suffering from a cost-of-living crisis, the Trump Administration is making it even harder to afford electricity.”
The following day, he recognized a local figure for community contributions: “Mel is a respected community leader, author, and musician whose preservation work enriches our district and strengthens community knowledge. I am proud to recognize Mel’s accomplishments and service, and grateful for his ongoing dedication to our community.”
Later on December 1, Levin addressed reports involving Pete Hegseth with the statement: “If this reporting is accurate, Pete Hegseth authorized actions that fit the definition of a war crime. The law is clear. There is currently no recognized armed conflict between the United States and suspected drug traffickers in the Caribbean, even if they are acting against our”
Levin has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
