Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, has recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing ongoing political controversies and national issues.
On April 14, 2026, Levin commented on the reported intentions of two fellow lawmakers to resign: “The decisions of Rep. Swalwell and Rep. Gonzales to announce their apparent intentions to resign are steps in the right direction. Now they must each follow through on their commitments and end their House tenures. The allegations against them are extremely serious and demand”.
Later that day, he criticized former President Donald Trump’s policies regarding Iran, stating on April 14, 2026: “Every time you fill up your tank right now, you’re paying for Trump’s unauthorized Iran war.
This war has already cost Americans $17 BILLION at the pump. That’s $129 per household, and it’s not stopping anytime soon.
When asked about his plan to stop it, Trump walked away.”
On April 15, 2026, Levin addressed recent developments related to presidential pardons associated with the January 6 events: “This is not the first time a Trump January 6th pardon has led directly to a criminal conviction for something else entirely. It will not be the last.
Daniel Tocci was pardoned, and the investigation that stemmed from his case uncovered more than 100,000 child sexual abuse images”.
Levin has served in Congress since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019 and represents communities in Southern California. He was born in Inglewood in 1978 and resides in San Juan Capistrano. His educational background includes degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
