Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing International Women’s Day, the Trump administration’s handling of conflict, and issues within ICE training.
On March 8, 2026, Levin marked International Women’s Day by expressing appreciation for women in his life and reaffirming his commitment to advancing women’s rights. He wrote: “Today, on International Women’s Day, I’m celebrating all the amazing women in my life, including my amazing wife Chrissy. The progress women have fought generations to achieve is worth defending and advancing every single day, and I will always show up to do exactly that.”
The following day, Levin commented on actions by the Trump administration and congressional Republicans regarding an unspecified conflict. On March 9, he stated: “The Trump Administration and Washington Republicans need to sit down in a room and agree to call this what it is: a war. Problem is, once they do, they have to admit Trump started it illegally.”
Later that same day, Levin addressed concerns about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) training programs. He posted: “ICE just got caught in another lie. ICE cut over 40% of its training program, slashed half of all firearms instruction, and eliminated ALL evaluation of agents’ grasp of skills specific to immigration enforcement and deportation operations. A whistleblower told Congress,”
Levin has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa as representative for California’s 49th district. Born in Inglewood in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano at age 44, Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
