Rep. Mike Levin, serving in the U.S. Congress for California’s 49th district since 2019, shared several updates on April 19, 2025, via social media regarding ongoing political endeavors and personal insights.

On April 19, 2025, Rep. Mike Levin criticized the Trump Administration’s approach towards veteran programs, stating, “While the Trump Administration is hell-bent on cutting critical programs for our veterans, Senator Padilla and I are committed to standing up for them.”

That same day, he shared a personal connection to an issue affecting veterans and military personnel, writing, “This is personal—my wife’s family member trained as a Navy SEAL at Coronado and got cancer. To those just tuning in: welcome. Now we need urgency rather than tired old partisan BS. Let’s work together and fix it.”

Rep. Mike Levin also highlighted a recent development in cross-border environmental cooperation, saying, “Our work also led to Mexico’s commitment to fix the problem on their side of the border. They expect a major new treatment plant to be online this year. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin must ensure the funds we’ve secured are fully deployed.”

Born in Inglewood, California, Levin, 44, resides in San Juan Capistrano. His academic history includes a BA from Stanford University (2001) and a JD from Duke University (2005). He succeeded Darrell Issa in Congress, representing California’s 49th district.
