Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed economic and environmental issues on his social media account.
On August 11, 2025, Levin posted about rising tariffs: “Tariffs are now the highest since the Great Depression — and you’re the one paying the bill. Not other nations. Higher prices on everyday goods hurt our businesses and working families, making it harder for everyone to get ahead.”
Earlier that same day, Levin commented on actions by the Environmental Protection Agency under former President Trump: “The Trump EPA is ending updates to one of the world’s most-used tools for cutting emissions — data companies use to lower costs, boost efficiency, and stay competitive. Killing it raises expenses and hands our competitors the edge in the clean energy race.”
A day before these statements, on August 10, 2025, Levin shared a post without additional commentary: https://t.co/fv2M9BDyF2.
Levin has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
