Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, posted a series of updates on April 15, 2026, addressing ongoing issues in Congress and his recent legislative achievements.

In a post at 18:23 UTC, Levin criticized House Republicans for not ending the government shutdown despite having a bipartisan deal available. He wrote, “REMINDER: House Republicans have had a BIPARTISAN deal on their desk to fund all of DHS except ICE and Border Patrol for TWO WEEKS, and they are still refusing to end this shutdown. TSA officers, Coast Guard crews, and FEMA responders have no idea when their next paycheck is”.

Later that day at 19:22 UTC, Levin called for immediate congressional action regarding military engagement decisions made by former President Trump. He stated, “Congress needs to vote on a War Powers resolution this week — not next week, this week. Trump took this country to war without a vote of Congress, without authorization from the American people, and without a plan. He threatened to destroy civilian infrastructure in ways that”.
