Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, posted on social media about the growing role of investors in the single-family housing market and his legislative efforts to address the issue.

On August 8, 2025, Levin stated, “One in five single-family homes is now owned by investors—pricing out first-time buyers and rigging the market. Housing shouldn’t be hoarded for profit. I’m fighting to rein in investors and make homeownership a reality for working families again.”

The same day, he also shared two posts without additional commentary: “https://t.co/i2CJHsrOFX” (August 8, 2025) and “https://t.co/s14azVR8Qp” (August 9, 2025).

Levin has represented California’s coastal 49th District since succeeding Darrell Issa in Congress in 2019. Born in Inglewood in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano, Levin holds degrees from Stanford University and Duke University.
