Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on social media this week.
On September 18, 2025, Levin criticized House Republicans for their approach to health care costs, stating, “House Republicans claim to care about rising health care costs, but instead of acting to stop ACA premium hikes, they want to delay again. Americans should not be left anxiously wondering if they will lose their coverage. We were elected to protect their care, not punt.”
Later that day on September 19, he commented on environmental policy changes by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He wrote, “The EPA just moved to roll back a key safeguard that recognizes greenhouse gases as a threat to our health and well-being. I led my California colleagues in urging the EPA to reverse course and do its job: protect our families, our air, and our environment.”
In another post on September 19 regarding Alzheimer’s disease awareness efforts in California, Levin stated: “Alzheimer’s impacts over two million Californians. I applaud and support all those participating in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s research is crucial to finding a cure, and I will continue working in Congress towards an end to this devastating disease.”
Levin has represented California’s 49th district since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano at age 44. Levin holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
