Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several issues on his social media account, including energy prices, congressional procedures, and health care policy.
On November 2, 2025, Levin commented on rising utility costs: “Americans are seeing their energy prices skyrocket. We must lower the cost of living, including electricity costs. I have a bill, the Cheap Energy Act, that would bring utility costs down.”
Two days later, on November 4, 2025, he criticized House Speaker Johnson regarding the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva: “Adelita Grijalva was elected to serve the people of Arizona’s 7th district in SEPTEMBER. It is now NOVEMBER and Speaker Johnson STILL refuses to swear her in. It’s completely undemocratic.”
That same day, Levin addressed health care legislation and congressional operations: “A secret plan for health care is not a plan. A concept for health care is not a plan. Refusing to extend necessary health care tax credits to drive up costs is not a plan.
Speaker Johnson must reopen Congress and work with us to lower Americans’ health care costs.”
Levin has served as the representative for California’s 49th District since 2019 after replacing Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds a BA from Stanford University (2001) and earned his JD from Duke University in 2005.
