Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, posted several statements on his Twitter account addressing issues related to election integrity, classified documents, and foreign oil investments.

On January 17, 2026, Levin commented on the importance of elections in the United States. He stated, “You don’t ‘joke’ about canceling elections. The American people have the final say at the ballot box, and that’s not up for negotiation.”

The following day, January 18, 2026, Levin referenced former President Donald Trump in relation to classified documents. He wrote, “Quick reminder that President Trump was caught hoarding boxes of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.”

Later that same day, Levin discussed taxpayer funding for foreign oil projects. He posted, “American taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for risky foreign oil projects that boost Big Oil profits and won’t actually lower costs here at home. Rebuilding Venezuela’s crumbling oil infrastructure could cost tens of billions of dollars, and the only real winners would be the”.

Levin has served as a representative since succeeding Darrell Issa in 2019. Born in Inglewood in 1978 and now residing in San Juan Capistrano, he holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Duke University (JD).
