Rep. Mike Levin, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 49th district since 2019, addressed constituents and national issues in a series of posts on his social media account this week.
On February 20, 2026, Levin invited the public to participate in an interactive session: “Join me tonight at 4pm PT for my telephone town hall! I’m looking forward to hearing from you and answering your questions. Tune in on my website or Facebook.”
The following day, he commented on a recent natural disaster affecting the state: “The avalanche near Lake Tahoe is a tragedy that has shaken our entire California community. My heart is broken for every family grieving today. To the first responders who risked everything in impossible conditions, thank you for your bravery and sacrifice.” The statement came as emergency personnel responded to hazardous conditions in Northern California.
Later on February 21, Levin reacted to a Supreme Court decision regarding trade policy: “The Supreme Court handed Trump a major defeat and American families a major victory. Trump’s tariffs are UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Tariffs cost American families $1,100 each. And they never should have happened in the first place. The President doesn’t get to unilaterally impose” The post reflects ongoing debate about executive authority over tariffs and their economic impact.
Levin was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. He graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 2001 and earned his JD from Duke University in 2005.
