Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets addressing rising healthcare premiums, climate impacts on coffee prices, and a mention of UC San Diego.
On July 27, 2025, Levin wrote: “If you’re on the Affordable Care Act, brace yourself—your premiums are about to skyrocket. Republicans were wrong to gut tax credits for working families just to fund giveaways for the ultra wealthy. They must admit it—and work with us to fix it, fast.” The tweet highlighted his concerns over changes to the Affordable Care Act and called for bipartisan cooperation.
Later that day, Levin addressed climate-related supply chain issues affecting coffee drinkers. On July 27, 2025, he tweeted: “More bad news for coffee drinkers — extreme weather events are becoming increasingly common, squeezing supply chains and raising costs on coffee beans.”
The following day, on July 28, 2025, Levin mentioned UC San Diego in a brief post: @UCSD https://t.co/3rXjelBPXJ
Levin has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 2001 and earned his JD from Duke University in 2005.
