Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., representing California’s 25th district, shared three messages through his social media account this week. He extended holiday greetings and reflected on recent engagements and challenges within his district.

On April 20, he extended Easter wishes, saying, “Happy Easter, from my kin pack to yours!”

In a subsequent post on April 23, Congressman Ruiz described an engaging week with his constituents, writing, “What an incredible town hall tour. This past week, I had the honor of meeting hundreds of you from across the district. From @Beaumontgov to @CityofIndio to @CityofElCentro, thank you for showing up with energy and heart. The work continues, and I’m proud to keep fighting for…”

Later that same day, he expressed dissatisfaction about a significant economic development. On April 23, he voiced his disappointment regarding the anticipated shutdown of the Spreckels Sugar Beet Facility in Brawley, California: “I’m deeply disappointed by the news of the Spreckels Sugar Beet Facility’s planned closure in #BrawleyCA. Congressman Ruiz, 50, who was born in Zacatecas City, Mexico, represents a diverse constituency. He has been in office since 2013 after succeeding Mary Bono. Ruiz, a former student of the University of California, Los Angeles and Harvard University, is known for his dedication to community issues in Indio, where he resides.
