Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., who has been representing California’s 25th district since 2013, recently shared a series of posts on social media highlighting key issues and events. Born in Zacatecas City, Mexico in 1972, Ruiz now resides in Indio and is known for his commitment to environmental sustainability and veterans’ welfare.

On June 5, 2025, Congressman Ruiz announced his participation with leaders at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence’s Giga + USA to emphasize the potential of “Lithium Valley” in Imperial County, California. He noted that “We have a chance to create good-paying local jobs, all while protecting our environment through sustainable extraction of lithium from geothermal.”

Later that day, he posted a light-hearted tweet asking “got tacos? “ indicating a moment of levity amidst his busy schedule.

On June 6, 2025, Ruiz addressed concerns regarding proposed budget cuts by House Republicans. He stated that “House Republicans are coming for veterans AGAIN. They want to slash the PACT Act’s Toxic Exposure Fund…” emphasizing the potential negative impact on veterans’ care and benefits.
