Rep. Mike Levin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 49th district since 2019, shared several updates on June 13, 2025, regarding legislative matters and international events.

In a tweet posted at 00:51 UTC, Levin announced that his amendment was adopted by the Appropriations Committee. He stated, “The military defends the nation. It does not police it.” This amendment reaffirms that the Armed Forces should not be deployed for law enforcement purposes.

Later that day at 15:39 UTC, Levin issued a statement concerning international affairs. He referenced Israel’s actions in a tweet saying, “My statement on Israel’s preemptive strikes on Iranian nuclear and military targets:” indicating his engagement with foreign policy issues.

In another post at 17:06 UTC, Levin criticized some of his Republican colleagues on the Appropriations Committee for their recent decision. He expressed concern over their vote to relinquish congressional power over budgetary decisions, questioning their motives with “What are they so afraid of?”

Mike Levin has served in Congress since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019. Born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano, Levin holds degrees from Stanford University and Duke University.
