Rep. Mike Levin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 49th district since 2019, recently shared his perspectives on several pressing issues via social media. Levin, who replaced Darrell Issa and has a background in law with degrees from Stanford University and Duke University, took to Twitter to address financial concerns, infrastructure projects, and transportation options.
On July 10, 2025, Rep. Levin criticized a proposed budget bill by Republicans, stating that “We’re heading over a financial cliff for no reason other than to provide tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.” He argued that the bill fails to invest in long-term solutions or respond to generational crises and labeled it as “a scam that every American is going to pay for.”
In another post on the same day, Levin highlighted his efforts in securing federal funding for environmental improvements. He mentioned that he has helped secure more than half a billion dollars to upgrade cross-border wastewater facilities but expressed frustration with the slow progress by administrations from both parties: “It’s time to get this done, once and” for all.
Levin also informed his constituents about transportation options available during the summer in Southern California. On July 10, he tweeted about free or discounted transportation services such as the OC Fair Express: “The OC Fair Express is offering $4 roundtrip bus service to the OC Fair from five locations throughout Orange County.”
