Rep. Mike Levin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 49th district, has shared several insights on recent events and policies through his social media platform. His posts cover a range of topics from local business discussions to national policy critiques.
On June 20, 2025, Rep. Levin expressed his appreciation for participating in a discussion with colleagues and the San Diego Chamber of Commerce about the effects of Washington’s policies on local businesses. He remarked, “It was great to join my colleagues and the @SDChamber for a wide-ranging discussion about the impact of Washington policies on businesses in San Diego.”
The following day, June 21, he highlighted the plight of an interpreter who supported military efforts in Afghanistan. Levin emphasized the sacrifices made by such individuals and stated, “This man put his life on the line to support our military as an interpreter in Afghanistan. He risked his life for us.” Levin further stressed that allies deserve better treatment.
Later that day, Levin criticized immigration policies associated with Stephen Miller. He condemned mass deportation quotas as harmful and un-American while advocating for focusing enforcement on serious offenders rather than family separations. In his words, “Stephen Miller’s mass deportation quotas are cruel, chaotic, and un-American.” He argued that public safety should not come at the cost of cruelty.
Mike Levin was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. A Stanford University graduate with a BA earned in 2001 and a JD from Duke University obtained in 2005, he has been representing California’s 49th District since succeeding Darrell Issa in 2019.
