Rep. Mike Levin, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 49th District since 2019, recently shared his perspectives on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Levin, born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano, is known for his candid commentary on political matters.
On June 6, 2025, Rep. Levin expressed criticism towards the GOP’s health care plan by stating “The GOP’s health care plan is don’t get sick. And if you do get sick, die quickly.”
In a tweet dated June 8, 2025, Levin addressed concerns about the potential invocation of the Insurrection Act by asserting that “The State of California has not requested support from our National Guard troops — and for good reason. Our state and local authorities have the capacity to maintain order. Invoking the Insurrection Act without cause isn’t leadership, it’s authoritarian overreach.”
On June 9, 2025, Levin commented on immigration policy and criticized Stephen Miller’s stance by declaring “Stephen Miller is a dangerous extremist peddling fear and lies… What we don’t support is tearing apart nonviolent families or using the military to round up day laborers.” He emphasized his position on deporting undocumented violent criminals while opposing measures that would harm nonviolent families.
