Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his social media account on November 13, 2025, addressing health care legislation, government oversight, and welcoming a new colleague.
In a post published at 14:28 UTC, Levin criticized Republican lawmakers for their handling of health care policy. He wrote, “Republicans have done absolutely nothing to address the health care crisis they created in this awful bill. I’m a firm no.”
Later that day at 17:34 UTC, Levin commented on what he characterized as government waste and questioned the absence of oversight by an entity referred to as DOGE. He stated, “Is DOGE not around to stop this blatant waste? Apparently not.”
At 19:33 UTC on the same day, Levin extended congratulations to a newly elected member of Congress. He posted, “Congratulations to my newest colleague, @Rep_Grijalva. For the past seven weeks, you’ve shown what leadership looks like and what it means to fight for your constituents. Looking forward to working with you!”
Levin has represented California’s 49th District since replacing Darrell Issa in 2019. Born in Inglewood in 1978 and currently residing in San Juan Capistrano, Levin holds degrees from Stanford University and Duke University.
