Rep. Mike Levin, who represents California’s 49th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media on September 4, 2025, addressing issues ranging from congressional stock trading to military readiness.
In a post published at 17:48 UTC, Levin stated, “86% of Americans support a ban on Members of Congress trading stocks. It’s time to get it done.”
Later that day at 22:18 UTC, he commented briefly on an unspecified development: “First time since 2021. Not great.”
At 23:28 UTC, Levin turned his attention to military matters and Camp Pendleton Marines: “Our great Camp Pendleton Marines have told me repeatedly: they need every acre of land on base to train and maintain readiness. Our Marines are unmatched, and they have my full support to remain the strongest, most capable warfighters on earth. We must prioritize readiness over”
Levin has served as the representative for California’s 49th District since 2019 after succeeding Darrell Issa. He was born in Inglewood, California in 1978 and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano. Levin holds a BA from Stanford University (2001) and a JD from Duke University (2005).
