The United States Marine Corps is set to commemorate its 250th anniversary with a significant event titled “America’s Marines250: From Sea to Shore — A Celebration of Amphibious Strength.” The event will take place at Camp Pendleton, California, on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Vice President JD Vance, who has the distinction of being the first Marine to hold this office, will participate in the celebration.
Vice President Vance previously served with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing as a combat correspondent and was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He will join over 15,000 Marines, Sailors, veterans, and their families in honoring the Marine Corps’ longstanding service and strength.
The commemoration is organized by Marines250 and will feature a Review of Amphibious Strength and a live Amphibious Assault Demonstration. Remarks will be delivered by Vice President Vance alongside Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan, and Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps General Eric M. Smith.
“From Sea to Shore” aims to showcase the unity and discipline that characterize America’s Marines while inspiring future generations to uphold the Corps’ legacy.
Media personnel interested in covering the event must apply for credentials by Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Applications require U.S. citizenship and no criminal background; a valid Real ID or passport is also necessary for site entry.
