In March, the median sale price of a home in San Diego County rose by $23,000 from the same period in the previous year, while total sales decreased by 35.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

There were 488 homes sold in March, with a median sale price of $908,000 — a 2.6% increase over the $885,000 median sale price during the same period of the previous year. In comparison, 755 homes were sold in San Diego County in March 2024.

Based on the latest available data from 2023, the median sales tax in San Diego County was $5,595, which stands at 0.6% of March’s median home sale price.

The U.S. housing market has surged in recent years, with its total value approaching $50 trillion in 2024—nearly five times its value in 2000.
“The value of America’s housing market will likely cross the $50 trillion threshold in the next 12 months as there are not enough homes being listed to push prices down,” said Redfin Economics Research Lead Chen Zhao.
